So purify yourselves by sacrifice. ” (Tirmidhi) The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) added: (Ibn Majah)

Sacrifice background

Allah Ta'ala has tested Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) many times in different ways. He has passed all the exams. This time he faced an ordeal. One night he dreamed that God had commanded him to sacrifice his son Ishmael. What could be more beloved in the world than Ishmael, the only child of old age? He ended up thinking a lot Concluded, God will do so to please.

It is mentioned in the Holy Quran,

Then he said to his son Ishmael, "He (Ibrahim) said: O son! I dreamed that I was slaughtering Taema. Now what is your opinion? He (Ismail) said: O my father. Do what you are commanded to do. If Allah wills, you will find me one of the patient ”(Surah As-Saffat: 102). Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was happy to get this bold answer from his son. He stabbed his son Ishmael in the neck to please God. Ibrahim (AS) also passed this test. In the Holy Quran - And Abraham in his judgment Meaning: “Then I called him and said: O Ibrahim! You really did fulfill that dream. " (Surat as-Saffat, verses 104-105) Allah Ta'ala was pleased and brought a dumba from heaven and laid it under the knife in Ishmael's place.  Akika

Akika's idea

‘Akika’ is an Arabic word. It means broken, cut, etc. In Islamic terminology, slaughtering halal domestic animals in the name of Allah on the seventh day after the birth of a child is called akika. Akika is circumcised. Through this the mercy of Allah is obtained. The child's danger is removed. Therefore, every parent should name the newborn Akika in time. The hadith says, “Every newborn child is associated with Akika. The animal must be slaughtered in his name on the seventh day of his birth. His name will be given, and his hair will be shaved. ” (Nasai) Akika was prevalent even before Nabi Karim (s.a.). He continued it with the permission of Allah Ta'ala. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did akika himself and encouraged others to do the same. If the parents do not do Akika, they can do Akika themselves. Rasulullah (peace be upon him) did his own akika after becoming a prophet. Akika mustahab on the seventh day of childbirth. If it is not possible on the seventh day, it can be done on the 14th and 21st, that is, on every additional seventh day. The child is the favorite of the parents. It is better to do four things on the seventh day of childbirth. A, to keep the Islamic name of the child. B. Shave one's head C. Donate the weight of the hair of the head to the army or silver. D, to akika.

Akika recovery rules

Every legitimate act of a Muslim is worship. There are specific rules for performing Ibadat. And if the work is done in a regular manner, the pleasure of Allah will be obtained. So Akika is also an act of worship and there are specific rules for performing it. In this regard, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "It is enough to slaughter two goats for a boy and one goat for a girl." (Nasai). For Akika, two goats for a boy and a goat or a sheep for a girl are to be slaughtered, or two for a boy and one for a girl can be taken from the sacrificial cow. Akika also runs by all the animals that can be sacrificed. The age of Akika's animal must be similar to the age of the sacrificial animal. The sacrificial leaves of Akika's beast have to be divided into three parts in the same manner as the beast. All parents and siblings can eat this food. After cooking this meat, he goes to feed his relatives and the poor miskin. The skin has to be donated to the poor. It is better for the father of Akika's animal child to slaughter with his own hands. If you are incapable, you can be slaughtered with the help of others.

Lessons of Sacrifice

Sacrifice does not mean just slaughtering cows, goats, buffaloes, dumba etc. Rather, it leads to the satisfaction of Allah Ta'ala. Sacrifice bears the memory of the incomparable sacrifice of the Prophets Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and Ishmael (peace be upon him). By this the Muslims declare that the pleasure of Allah is more valuable to them than their own life and property. They stabbed the animal in the throat, shed its blood, and swore to God, “O God! I will not be reluctant to shed the blood of our body in the way I am shedding the blood of an animal to achieve your satisfaction. ” God does not want to see who has spent so much money to buy an animal, whose animal is so fresh, how beautiful it is. He wants to see how much love and piety Allah has in his heart. God is great in the Holy Quran Said: God bless you and bless you, but God bless you Meaning: "Their taqwa never reaches Allah, but their taqwa reaches them." (Surah Al-Hajj, verse 36) Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ishmael (AS) were the embodiments of self-sacrifice and surrender. If people take this lesson in their life, they will become sympathetic, compassionate and self-sacrificing towards each other. Only selfless people can bring welfare to the society and the state. Those who magnify the happiness of the people of the society outside their own happiness and peace are the real people. The teaching of sacrificial sacrifice will encourage us to do good and develop a humanistic consciousness.
